I can back this study up with personal experience and tell you how much I enjoyed the effects of breastfeeding on my blood sugars. I breastfed all 3 of my boys for longer than 12 month each, and took far less insulin than I do now that my last child is weaned. Breastfeeding is great for a variety of reasons, among those is the effects on blood sugar…and it sounds like this study shows that breastfeeding can help women with gestational prevent or postpone “pre-diabetes.”
